Hello, Ever Onward Tribe,
For this month’s Commander’s Coffee, I’m bringing you to the edge.
Play without a safety net.
Find those opportunities to take risks, not just in a business environment or in an esoteric way. Go find something that makes you uncomfortable, either individually or as a team, and do that thing. Put yourself in a situation that gets the hair on the back of your neck standing up and your heart racing. Achieve that.
Quote of the Day:
“So we shall let the reader answer this question for himself: who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed?”
-Hunter S. Thompson
Don’t stay on the shore. Play without a safety net. Pursue the uncomfortable.
Be sure to gather a group of people around you, your own tribe, to dive into this discussion together and hold each other accountable to apply it.
Exciting news! If you haven’t seen the announcements yet, we launched a shop on the website, featuring new Ever Onward gear. In fact, the shirt I’m wearing in the video is one of our new products. You can get your own and check out other merchandise over at RorkeDenver.com.
Lastly, don’t forget that we have our next Campfire Session coming up THIS Sunday, August 26. I’ll be coming at you live from Asheville, NC with more SEAL stories and leadership lessons on the topic of The Briefing Room. Do you want a front row seat? It’s not too late to check out the VIP ticket option that includes a pre-campfire dinner with me, an Ever Onward swag bag (cigars included), and an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience!
